Mary Tingaud, a licensed acupuncturist has been in private practice for 15 years; 10 in Santa Monica, CA, 8 in Santa Barbara, CA.
She received her Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, CA in 1990.
She also holds a postgraduate degree from Shanghai, China in advanced Clinical Studies in Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine and Tuina.
She is certified in Traditional Chinese Medical Gynecology from Blue Poppy Institute in Bolder, Colorado.
Additionally, Mary holds certificates for over 500 hours of continuing education in various modalities such as Functional Medicine and
Nutrition from the Institute of Functional Medicine, Applied Kinesiology, bio-energetic medicine, and Homeopathy and Homotoxicology from
Westbrook University.
Combining 25 years of experience as a licensed Massage Therapist including myofascial release, tragger therapy, shiatsu, tuina, deep tissue massage,
polarity, reiki and energy balancing contributes a significant healing benefit for her patients.
Mary has studied with noted healers and shamans such as Maria Bartolotta (How We Heal and Wheels of Light) in Los Angeles and Don Miguel Ruiz
(author of the Four Agreements) in Teotihuacán, Mexico.
As a consultant for the California Acupuncture State licensing Committee, Mary has contributed by compiling test questions for the written
State Board Exam. As an instructor on staff at the Tao Healing Arts Center in Santa Monica, CA, she has taught Theory of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
At the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine, she has taught clinical observation and diagnosis.
The Arthritis Foundation recently invited her to be a guest speaker at the symposium for “Alternative Pathways to Coping with Fibromyalgia”.
She has also appeared on a local radio show as a guest speaker on healing.
