Biography
Ann Brode is a longtime resident of Santa Barbara and recognized master in her field. For over 30 years she has focused on the relationship of body, mind and spirit as it shapes the physical experience.
Receiving her BA in 1968, Ann spent 7 years as a motor-perceptual therapist. Anns interest in grace, comfort, and function led her to study with Judith Aston, completing an extensive training and certification process. As her practice evolved, Ann refined her way of working with people and their physical structure, generating a deep understanding of the mind/body relationship. Through 30+ years of experience, she has developed an effective and unique approach which combines sensitive bodywork with an awareness of how the psyche inhabits the body.
Over the years Ann has worked with David Agnew, M.D., Anthony Allina, M.D., Judith Aston, M.A., Hendrika Devries, M.A., Carolyn Braddock, M.A., Monique Fay, L.Ac., Herb Gravitz, PhD, Aaron Kipnis, PhD, Timothy Schultz, D.O., Allen Thomashefsky, M.D., and others to deepen her understanding of the relationship of psyche to soma, mind to body. Through combining cognitive studies, inter-professional mentoring, and 30 years experience working therapeutically with people, Ann has developed a deep understanding and her own unique techniques for evoking and supporting whole person well being.
